    Flora of Pyrenees

    The Pyrenean flora is influenced by the oceanic climate in the west Mediterranean to the east wet north side of French, drier south of the Spanish side, as well as everywhere in the mountain terraces related to the altitude. The flora of the Pyrenees has about 4500 species, some 160 endemic species.
    Mediterranean influence that the eastern Pyrenees, sunniest, have a different flora from the rest of the Pyrenees.
    The Pyrenees National Park has a flora and fauna very rich:

    • Flora: 2,500 plant species including 200 endemic species. It qualifies as an endemic species that evolved on the spot for very long periods and therefore has differentiated gradually adapting to local environmental conditions.
    • Wildlife: 4000 species.
